Publication Ethics

Annales Mathematicae Silesianae follows the principles of publication ethics as formulated by the Committee on Publication Ethics. Below we list some of the main postulates.

Authors

  • Authors shall submit only original manuscripts that have not been published previously, are not under consideration elsewhere, and will not be submitted or published elsewhere unless the editors of Annales Mathematicae Silesianae reject the manuscript. Submitting the same paper to multiple journals is considered unethical.


  • The submitted article must not contain unlawful statements or infringe the rights of others.


  • In the case of co-authorship, all authors must have made a significant contribution to their work. The authors declare that there is no conflict of interest among them and that no ghostwriting or guest authorship has occurred. Ghostwriting and guest authorship constitute scientific misconduct; all such cases will be disclosed and the appropriate institutions informed. In this respect, we undertake to follow the principles recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics.


  • Authors shall provide a complete and accurate list of references, giving appropriate credit to all researchers whose work contributed to the submission.


  • Plagiarism is unacceptable and strongly condemned. Authors shall take special care that no part of the manuscript raises any doubt as to its academic integrity.


  • If the submitted work is accepted and published, the authors retain the copyright and grant permission for the work to be used under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Editors

  • The Editors hold responsibility for deciding which of the papers submitted to the journal are published. They focus on the integrity of published texts and pay special attention to their high academic, editorial, and aesthetic standards.


  • The Editors shall be responsible for publishing issues on time.


  • The Editors shall prevent conflicts of interest between the Authors, the Reviewers, and the editorial team members. They shall not consider the authors' race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy as pertinent to selecting the text for publication.


  • Unpublished, original material submitted to the journal shall never be used by the Editors or any party privy to the material prior to its publication for their research purposes without the Author's explicit written consent.


  • Until the moment of the admission of the article for publication, the Editors shall not disclose any information about the submitted manuscript to any third party other than the corresponding Author, peer referees, members of the editorial team, the publisher, copyeditors, proofreaders, typesetters, involved in the production of the journal as appropriate.


  • The Editors shall never disclose the identities of the Reviewers to the Authors.

Reviewers

  • The Reviewers shall provide the Editors with information that will allow them to make an informed decision concerning the publication of the material. Each review shall be objective in assessing the academic value of each contribution.


  • The Reviewers shall provide the Authors with relevant information, allowing them to revise their article to meet the highest academic quality standards or improve their writing in the future.


  • The Reviewers shall be impartial in their evaluation of the submission and shall never use ad hominem arguments.


  • The Reviewers shall deliver their review promptly or notify the Editors about any circumstances that prevent them from the timely delivery of the review.


  • The Reviewers are obliged to identify any insufficient citation of sources or potential plagiarism, in which case the Reviewers shall notify the Editors.


  • The Reviewers shall treat all documents received as confidential. They shall not use the submissions for purposes other than the publishing process.


  • The Reviewers shall decline the reference upon discovering any conflict of interest and inform the Editors about such instances.
